Collect for Sunday, July 17 (Proper 11)
Almighty God, the fountain of all wisdom, you know our necessities before we ask and our ignorance in asking: Have compassion on our weakness, and mercifully give us those things which for our unworthiness we dare not, and for our blindness we cannot ask; through the worthiness of your Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

FUNERAL FOR MARY SUE FISHER
Mary Sue Fisher, dear friend and supporter of St. Paul’s continuously, even through the final hours of life, passed away in hospice care this past week. Rev. Suzanne posted the following prayer:

Let us pray,
O God of grace and glory, we remember before you our sister, Mary Sue. We thank you for giving her to us,family and friends, to know and to love as a companion on our earthly pilgrimage. In your boundless compassion, console us who mourn. Give us faith to see in death the gate of eternal life, so that in quiet confidence of eternal life, so that in quiet confidence we may continue our course on earth, until, by your call, we are reunited with those who have gone before; through Jesus Christ of eternal life, so that in quiet confidence we may continue our course on earth, until, by your call, we are reunited with those who have before; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (BCP)

GOOD NEWS ON WALNUT STREET!
This was the scene that greeted me when I came to work this morning (Monday, July 11). Our block of Walnut Street and the intersection with E. Market Street has finally been repaved! And it looks wonderful.
