We want our children to be in worship with us - but we also want them to be able to be children. So we have a children's activity table with books, and activities at the front of the church for children 3 and up. They are able to see and hear what is going on in worship and also be engaged in quiet activities during the service.
After the reading of the Gospel, the children are gathered on the steps and talks with them about something from the church season or the scripture readings that relate to them. We often engage in some dialog, which means that the Chat takes some interesting turns and occasional side tracks with humorous twists.
